Types of Teeth

Teeth, admit it that we all need it. It is one of the useful parts of our body in order for us to eat. Aside from that, teeth is the first thing that great every people. So, we need to take care of our teeth.

Incisors — this are the four teeth in front of your mouth, both upper and lower jaws. Central incisors are called to the teeth at the center of your mouth both at the top and bottom. While the teeth on each sides are called the lateral incisors. This all incisors are flat, broad and with a narrow edge that suit for cutting or even snipping food into pieces. They also have a single root.

Canines — this are the teeth at both sides of incisors. They are sometimes called eyeteeth or cuspids. These teeth are the longest and most stable teeth in the mouth. They come in single sharp point that ideal for ripping and tearing and foods. They also have a long single root.

Premolars — they are next to canine with a total of eight both upper and lower jaws in the mouth. They have a sharp point for piercing and ripping like the canines, but they also has a broader surface like the incisors for chewing and grinding. The lower premolars have only one root while on the upper first premolars has two roots while the second premolars have one root.

Molars — they are the last three of both upper and lower on both sides of the mouth. Depending on their location in which they are also numbered as first, second and third. The first molar which is the closest teeth on the front teeth is called the six year molars, while the last teeth farthest back in the mouth is called the wisdom teeth, while on the second teeth is called the 12 year molars. These types of teeth are the largest teeth with a broad surface that was design for crushing, grinding and chewing foods. The upper molars have three well separated teeth and in lower molars has two roots.
